Scare of Dentist

I am headache every time I need to send elder princess to dental check up. Her next appointment to see dentist will be a month later. This time she will be check by a specialist. I know I must send her in to make sure her teeth can grow healthy.

I had tried many ways to keep her calm and make she feel relax before we go but still, when reach at the dental, she will started nervous and cry.

I am not sure why she is so worry. Even I told her all the equipments in laboratory furnaces are not for her; dentist is to do checking, no extract, no pain at all but she just scare of dentist.

Without her co-operate, dentist can not do anything. I really worry will her next visit successful.

Bad Habit

Younger princess is very dependent. Dependent is the sense of she always likes to ask help from her sister or her mom.

I do not encourage her to take any thing out when we go out. She will having so many excuses to take water bottle, books, bag, hat, toy, jacket or hair band when she get ready to depart from home. But when during the trip, she will ask us to take those things for her. She will refuse to keep her own thing and ask us to do her a favor.

I do wish I can train her up and let her to understand that it is her responsibility to do something which she decided rather than give burden to others.

Too Many Gifts

Parent nowadays like to pamper their kids. Not only pamper their kids but also pamper their kid's friends.

Parent will buy cakes and prepare gifts and celebrate their kid's birthday at day care center or even have a party at home or any other fun places. Then all the kids have fun, the birthday kid received birthday gifts from friends and friends receiving gift basket in returned.

Then some more Easter Gift Baskets, Children's day presents, Christmas exchange gifts, sport day gift and etc. From beginning of the year until end of the year, there are so many activities and fun and the kids enjoy receiving gifts and presents. Mostly are candies, biscuits and stationery.

Children nowadays are really rich in materialistic.

Sports

Before joining any school activities, my two little princesses did consider to Learn Bass Guitar, piano, drawing, play badminton, basketball, Chinese Yo-Yo and gymrama.

It is good to let children join activities in school. Family members encouraged them to join sport activities instead of art classes. The main reason is to build up good health and habit to exercise and sport since young. I do full agree on this.

They are active in sport now. Elder princess is playing basketball 3 days a week and younger princess practicing gymrama on every Saturday. Pity to see their tired faces after exercise but they love their sports very much!

Dentist

This is the most horrible name to my elder princess. I rely no idea why she so scare to see dentist. I already motivate her always and keep inform her there is no pain and only checking but still, she will cry and refuse to go for tooth check.

Her teeth are seriously problems and I have no idea why those baby teeth can keep for so long but those new teeth keep on pop out. For sure we need to spend to correct the position of her tooth.

We met out hubby's cousin who working in government dental last few weeks and she asked us to see her at her clinic and propose to write us a referral letter to see specialist in government clinic.

According to her, at my elder princess age of 9 now is the best to do the correction or adjustment. We have to take her advice and hopefully elder princess will cooperate with us to make her teeth in good posture.

Homemade Furnitures

My dad was a carpenter. Even though he is retired but still he loves to make and create furniture by his own.

To me, the folding chair was a big project. He successfully finished his action plan with the help of one of his friends. The fun part is they done two same design folding chairs and each got one. Those are wood folding chairs which curve at the sitting place and it can extend and lay on it like a bed.

My princesses love the wooden one level medical step stool. To them that are their special chair. I still remember the first time when they saw the chair, both of them started argue because of the stool. They keep arguing who to be the first who sit on the chair and later on keep complaining why their sis sits there for so long. And finally that was a good experience to teach them on sharing. :P

Two in one Bedroom

Two little princesses are happy with their own bedroom. I insist them to sleep in one bedroom because I wish them to have each other every night instead of sleep alone.

The room space is not big but enough to fit in a display rack, two standing coat racks, a wardrobe, 2 single beds and a toy hanger. There only leave a very limited space to walk but since this is only for them to sleep and rest, I think it is still acceptable.

The only thing I can not accept is these two little princesses will chat with each others non stop or will scold each others and making noise every night before they really go to bed. I have to keep ask myself to be tolerant as this is my arrangement to make them sleep in one room.

Sport and Exercise

Elder princess continue her basketball training session with the new school semester started. Younger princess is having choices to choose on her weekend activities at school. Two yeas ago when her sister selecting, she told us she wishes to learn Chinese Kung-Fu, WuSu or Taekwondo. But when I asked her yesterday, she told us she wishes to join gymrama and violin class. I feel like gymrama is hard as this needs so many body strengthening so I agreed to let her joined violin class.

But yesterday night her grandpa encouraged her to join sport activities which is good for her health. I am totally agreed with him. Children have to be trained to love exercise. As long as they love exercise and sport, they always will. Not like me who always lazy to do exercise, having so much health problems.

Finally I decided to enroll her to gymrama class. Wish she can cope with all the strengthen difficulties.

Wake Up Early

Elder princess will be study on morning session next year onwards. It is a must to get her wake up early. She has to reach school before 7am. That's means I have to wake up at least 5.30am to prepare breakfast and she has to leave her bed latest by 6am.

Never wake up so early in the morning because she used to sleep late. I still not manage to get her sleep early because now is holidays and we have so much of activities. Worrying she will be superb tired if she can not get used to the new schedule...

Santa Claus

This year onwards princesses are asking is there really Santa Claus came to send them Christmas gift.

Kindergarten teacher told them parent is their Santa Claus. Even my mom in law told them the gifts in Christmas sock are from us not from Santa. I really feel sad with these.

Aren't kids have chance to dream?

Elder princess will be 9 years old next year. I told her the true but she feel like ignoring my answer. I think she is not sure and refuse to accept the fact as she wishes to receive gift from Santa every Christmas. :P

Gift From Santa

Every year either I or hubby will be our princesses Santa Claus. We will ask what they wish to get from Santa Claus and let them have a happy morning on Christmas Day. This is not a cheat but to fulfill the joy of Christmas. To us, every child is entitled to have their dream.

My elder princess wishes to have a watch and my younger wishes to have a yakima bike rack or a watch same like her sis. The Christmas sock is really on the bed. As usual, they sleep early and will wake up early to open their gift.

How I wish I can receive gift from Santa too.

Understandable Princesses

I always saved when buying things to two little princesses. Although not every time they can tolerant but most of the time they agreed my idea where I will only buy new stuffs for elder princess and the existing one goes to younger princess.

If I have a pair of prince and princess, I probably will headache on spending boys dress shoes at the same time. Because I have two princesses who are very understandable, younger princess is willing to take second hand stuffs from her sister. Sometimes, elder princess will be so good to suggest only buy for her sis and she insist to continue using her existing stuffs. Even once in a blue moon, both of them will ask me stop spending for them but ask me to buy something for myself. So sweet!

4 days 3 nights Camp

Good to hear that princesses are doing well in the holiday camp. Finally both of them agreed to join the children holiday camp and I saw their excited faces to attend the camp.

Younger princess woke up early in the morning (around 4am) and told me she wanted to brush her teeth so that she can keep her toothbrush in her beg and be prepared early to attend the camp. She is over-excited! I have to clam her and asked her back to sleep till 6.30am so that she is enough sleep and energy for the camp activities.

Today is the first day. They went out at 7.15am with the help of my friend to fetch them to the camp. For the first time, they have their own activities without me for such a long period. I am going to miss them so much for these 4 days 3 nights!

Kids Holiday Camp

Plan to let my princesses join the holiday camp which we missed last two years. First year when I know about this children holiday camp, maybe because I like this kind of activity, so I am interested to let my princesses to have a try. It is good to have some special activity during long school holiday. Too bad younger princess can not join due to the age limit, and elder princess have no interest at all.

The second year, because elder princess still ignore my offer to join the camp, younger princess then agreed to stick to her sis's decision. Then I went to the camp graduation ceremony with my princesses and let them feel how happy those kids are. Both of them agreed to join on the coming year.

This year the camp will be held in December. Just asked and elder princess said she doesn't want to join but younger princess is interested. How?

Life Lesson

Princesses feel excited when they know there will be a painting and drawing competition next two weeks. When they know that the organizer is only awarding hampers for the winners, they feel a bit disappointed. To them, they prefer cheerleading trophies as prizes.

They did received hampers and trophies from different kind of competitions. I think they prefer trophy because hamper only can show off for a very short period but trophy can display at living room and always show off when they wanted to.

But for me as a mom, all I can do is correct them the way they think about joining competition. Besides encourage them to do whatever the best no matter they can be the winner or not, learn to be a loser and accept to be a loser is a good life lesson.

Self-Discipline

My two little princesses will keep nagging if I not allow them to play the iPad games. Initially I told them the time to play with iPad is during weekends only. Later on hubby used to promise them play when they finished homework, so they used to ask permission to play every time when they finish their homework now.

I don't like this. To me, this is not a good habit. As long as you got chance to play with the games, you will invest more and more time to it. This is what normally kids will do. They love playing games more than others. I have to train them to be self discipline, and always remind them to focus to other activities instead of playing games.

Wait another Seven Years

My younger princess asked when she can buy new PSP games. She often share with me how happy she is when her classmate let her play the game. Then every time she asked me to buy for her, I will just ignore her or told her she is young, mom don't like her to get crazy with those games. Once in a while is still ok. When she big enough then only mom will consider.

Today she asked me again but question in a different way. She asked, how old she is then only she can own a PSP game set. This is like a target for her to achieve on. I have no choice but to promise will buy it for her when she is thirteen. She is only six now. Have to wait another seven years, am I too much? LOL

Snacks & Soft Drinks

I not give any money to my elder princess to school. I had paid in advance every early of the month and the school canteen will prepare foods for them every day. I believe those foods prepared is better than she buy whatever she likes during the rest period.

I didn't give her any money to school. I thought this is the best way to keep her away from those soft drinks and snacks but I am wrong.

I think she is pretty good in communication and public relationship. She always has friends for even friend's parent spend her for snacks or soft drink. I always told her not to purposely ask for foods but she said they are willing to spend.

I still have no any good idea or solution on how to keep her away from taking soft drinks and snacks at school....

Married

We exchange the rings in front of a group of friends, they sang the wedding march. He is now my husband.

The bridegroom is 9 years old. The bride is my elder princess.

I am truly shock when she informed me about her 'wedding'!

What is married? What is husband? Do they really know these definitions?

OMG! I am dizzying!

Fairy Tales Storytelling Competition

Younger princess participated in the recent Fairy Tales Storytelling Competition and proudly to be the 1st runner up winner. Well done!

The competition was held by local authority. There were two contestants enrolled to the competition from her kindergarten. Both of them trained for about three weeks. According to the headmaster, this is the first English storytelling competition they participated on.

Not to forgot to congratulate my younger princess's friend as she is the 2nd runner up winner.

Two of them are happy to get the gift baskets which included stationery, story books, school bag, as well as the cheap brownie pops, sweets and snacks in it. I can see the teachers and the headmaster are so happy and feel so proud to them. The student's successes are their success. Although they are not rewarded any thing in physical. But the student's good performances and the achievement results are the good rewards to them.

I wish to thank you for the training and the efforts that the headmaster and all the teachers put on my younger princess. Thank you very much!
