Best time to Invest?

Do you think now is the best time to invest in share market? My dad asked me to teach him how to do online trading. As he told me, share prices are dropped and the prices are cheaper compare to before. This is the best time to buy. He said even thought if the market will not be up soon but he is willing to check it for at least six months. He wishes to try his luck. I have no experience about this. Please share with me what is your thought....

I have been taking quite a bit of money and putting it into the market right now. I am still fairly young and do not have any debt so putting my funds in the market is not much of a risk to me. Plus I have the time to wait out however long it will take for the market to come back. The only concern is staying away from companies that could end up dead in the water, so I shop carefully.
I use TD Ameritrade for my trading, but if you have never done this before or do not want to put down the large amount it takes to open the account then go to a company that handles investment accounts for you. They can really help you out and are more than willing to help you succeed.

I agree that now is a good time if you find yourself in a postion where you can send money that way. But your Dad really needs to consider if he will be needing this money in the next five years, otherwise it may not be worthwhile.

It may not be the best time but it is a really good time. We would never know the best time cause we cannot see the future.

I thought that would be pretty obvious with the markets low. Buy low sell high, you know, common sense. Since prices are falling this would be an excellent time to buy and wait til prices go up again.

it takes money to make money...if you have the extra money and you know what you are doing then now is a good time to buy. But I don't know much about it and have nothing extra :(
